A short 45 minutes outside of Portland, Oregon, the Skamania Lodge provides a tranquil ambiance filled with natural beauty. Over the last several years we have had the opportunity to shoot at the lodge during every season. This venue provides an ever-changing backdrop year round. For us, this means new inspiration around every corner. Summer in the Columbia River Gorge supplies tall grasses, blue skies and often fluffy-white clouds, where as the fall gives us those great colors that just pop!

In our style of photography, pre-visualization is key! Although we know the ins and outs of the Lodge, every time we photograph here a new experience comes our way. With each wedding, the results always give the uniqueness true to that of each individual couple. This is just another reason why we love shooting at Skamania! Our artistic style allows us to photograph in this timeless setting and constantly produce fresh, yet classic images that will be inspiring for years to come! The naturally lit lobby and northwestern decor allows natural characteristics to come through in the photographs. The interior provides a warm and inviting ambiance where we comfortably settle into our niche as photographers… we love utilizing the natural light. The eastern view of the gorge through the cascading mountains always gives us so much to work with. Every time we prepare for a shoot at the lodge we can count on a new and innovative perspective, because we always see something new along the horizon. Whether it be the kite-boarders that resemble butterflies floating on the water or the ever-changing clouds in the sky, it all makes for picturesque settings with unbeatable views.

Not only is the lodge photographically interesting, but working with any staff member, vendor, or wedding planner is easy and fun! Their experience and professionalism exceeds any expectation.
